Crazy USA health stats
Here’s some health stats in the USA that are going to blow your mind.
The average American consumes 3864 calories daily. Seems insane? Well, that’s because it is.
The average American doesn’t need 4000 calories to fuel their activity. They don’t need 3000. Most don’t even need 2000.
The US’s collective health is terrible due to the combination of processed ingredients (seed oils, hormones & lab made ingredients) and the insane amount of food people eat.
Because of this the average man is 200 pounds and 28% body fat. The average women is 170 pounds and 40% body fat.
This means American men carry about 60 pounds of fat, and American women, on average, carry about 70 pounds of fat.
There would be no better fix if the average American were to lose 5-10% of their body fat and meanwhile add 5-10 pounds of muscle.
There’s one problem though.
According to Penn State and the University of Maryland, the average American spends only about two hours per week on physical activity. Which is significantly less than the four hours recommended by the CDC.
Right now, only 28% of Americans are meeting physical activity guidelines.
It’s never been easier to be above average.
If you’re first starting out, I’d recommend a baseline of 3 workouts and prioritize single food ingredients. I would also aim for about 10,000 steps a day. Just doing that will put you in the upper echelon of fitness in the USA.
