Most people are walking zombies. They have very little energy and focus.

Once you max out your energy then it’s all about maximizing focus and then your output will skyrocket.

 How can you maximize your energy? Sleep. 

The two main stages of sleep we need are ~

- REM (Rapid Eye Movement)

- NREM (Non-Rapid Eye Movement)

 You need a certain amount of to get optimal sleep. Ideally, aim for 7-9 hours of quality sleep per night.

What happens when you don’t get the necessary amount of sleep?

- Metabolic dysregulation

- Increased appetite and cravings

- Deterioration in quality decision making

- Increased chance of chronic diseases like high blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes & obesity

Also,

 - Loss and decreased muscle mass.

- Reduced testosterone production

- Higher inflammation

- Decreased muscle recovery

I’m only scratching the surface here in terms of the negative effects.

How can you optimize sleep? Simple.

Start tracking it with the Fitbit, Apple watch, Oura ring or whoop and eliminate alcohol. 

Also, follow the 3-2-1 rule. 3 hours before bed no actual food. 2 hours before bed no liquids. 1 hour before bed no screens.

Just do that and I promise your sleep will improve and you’ll start to experience some of the awesome benefits.
