The Truth About Carbs & Fats

“You need to avoid carbs & fats”

That’s just flat out wrong. If a fitness coach tells you that carbs are bad, then you need to fire them.

You can eat carbs it just really depends on the type of carbs you should eat.

There’re two different types of carbs.

1) Simple carbohydrates (digest quickly and spike blood sugar)

2) Complex carbohydrates (digested more slowly and release glucose into the blood gradually)

Prioritize eating complex carbohydrates and when it comes to how much you should eat:

- Simply just eat less calories if your goal is to lose fat

- Simply eat more calories if you goal is to build muscle

It’s really that simple.

Fats are also essential because they serve as an energy provider and help keep you full for longer.

In short, your body needs unsaturated fats.

Unsaturated fats are made of the following

- Polyunsaturated fats (PUFAs)

- Monosaturated fats (MUFAs)

They are both responsible for increasing the good level of cholesterol in your system and eliminating the bad. They also help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and even contain omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids.

Hopefully this post was able to shine some light on the nutrition aspect of fitness.
