Start doing these 6 things

Take control of your health!

You’re not going to want to hear this.

But the current state of health for most Americans isn’t great.

Only 28% of Americans get enough exercise, and just 5% of adults engage in at least 30 minutes of daily physical activity, according to the CDC.

The good news? It has never been easier to be in the top 23% in terms of health and fitness.

How?

Simply follow these six steps:

  1. Walk 10,000 steps a day (about 5 miles).
Walking offers numerous benefits, including improved mental health, cardiovascular health, bone strength, metabolic function, and overall well-being.

  2. Lift weights at least 3 times per week (this is crucial).
Strength training helps maintain and build muscle. After the age of 30, muscle mass declines by approximately 3–8% per decade, with the rate of loss increasing as we age.

  3. Stretch at least 2–3 times per week.
Stretching improves range of motion and reduces the risk of injury.

  4. Prioritise 7–9 hours of sleep per night.
Sleep is the ultimate performance enhancer and should be a top priority.

  5. Drink 6–8 glasses of water daily, and always choose water over soda or alcohol.
Water is essential for optimal metabolic function and overall health. Staying hydrated is key to well-being.

  6. Prioritise single-ingredient, whole foods.
Eliminate packaged foods with long shelf lives and start reading ingredient labels. Food companies often mislead consumers into believing their products are healthy when they are not.

By focusing on these six simple habits, you’ll take significant control over your health and well-being moving forward.
