Should you be worried about EMF exposure?

Should you be worried about EMF (electromagnetic) exposure from technology? I wasn’t until I learned yesterday how harmful it can be for your health!

EMF exposure can come from cellphones, power lines, microwaves, Wi-Fi routers, computers and any other tech device.

The types of EMF can include ~

- X-rays

- Gamma rays

- Higher-energy ultraviolet (UV) rays

EMF exposure intensity decreases as you distance yourself from the object releasing it.

There’s specifically non-ionizing radiation and ionizing radiation.

The most harmful type of radiation is the ionizing and your phone, computer and day to day technology items release non-ionizing radiation.

This is good news but the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) has classified non-ionizing EMFs as possibly carcinogen (they can cause cancer!)

They found a direct link between glioma (a type of brain cancer) and high cellphone usage.

If you experience any of these symptoms then you may have suffered from high EMF exposure

- Headache

- Tremor

- Dizziness

- Memory loss

- Loss of concentration

- Sleep disturbance

Some helpful tips to limit exposure.

1) Put your phone far away from you when you go to sleep

2) Don’t keep your laptop on your stomach or lap for long periods of time

3) Be mindful of time spent using technology on a day to day basis
