How can you optimize your dopamine for guaranteed success?

It’s a simple answer to a complicated question. The answer is delayed gratification but let’s dive even deeper.

Sacrifice activities that bring about short term artificial explosions with your dopamine.

- Porn

- Video games

- TV

- Social media

- Nicotine

- Weed

- Alcohol

- Gambling

The list goes on and on. We want to feel good in the moment and so we succumb to these desires.

Which is why these behaviours are addicting. However, it’s important to know that we have a limited amount of dopamine.

So, every time you cave into your short-term desire, you’re going to have less dopamine for everything else in your life. 

So, you’ll just feel worse overall. And you’re either aware of this or have no idea which is much worse. 

So, what can you do? You can either stop or limit the amount of time spent on these artificial stimulant activities.

I’ll give you an example, I quit porn about a year ago. Not only do I feel much happier overall, but my energy and motivation exploded.

My baseline level of dopamine also increased, and I gained confidence and self-respect.

It was tough in the beginning, but it became easier overtime.  

It really comes down to whether you’re able to control your mind. 

Most people can’t, and they continue to engage in these destructive behaviours.

It’s the reason why people can’t quit vaping, are fat, poor, and unhealthy.

They know what they are doing is bad, but they can’t stop. The reason is because they have a weak mind.   

Also, why the mentally strong have a superior advantage.

If you have mental discipline and can control yourself and short-term impulses, then you will win.

It’s as simple as that.

My recommendation is to weed out bad behavior that’s giving you short term dopamine spikes. The sooner you quit the better and no shame in reaching out for help if you can’t do it on your own. 

Channel that energy for the long-term betterment of yourself. That is key.
