Why You Should Never Drink Beer

Beer is the Worst!

Alcohol is probably one of the worst things you can consume if you want to either build muscle or burn fat.

Obviously, it’s okay to have a drink occasionally and I’d stick to low calorie options like tequila.

If there is one alcohol I would permanently remove it’s beer. Why?

1. Beer is high in empty calories.

Empty calories can really add up overtime and cause you to gain weight. Especially, if you have multiple beers throughout the day and weekend.

2. Dehydration.

A beer at the end of the day may seem harmless but it’s not. It’s a terrible habit that can leave your body feeling parched and drained.

3. Beer is bad for your stomach.

Overall, can cause bloating and the carbonation in the beer can result in you seeming puffier.

4. Beer Belly.

The common phenomenon of a beer belly. When you drink alcohol, your body is focused on getting rid of the poison you’ve ingested that the fat burn process is put on hold.

5. Nutrient Deficiencies.

Alcohol interferes with your body’s absorption of important vitamins and minerals. Specifically, with vitamin B which is important for energy production.

6. High blood sugar

In a 2015 study by Biomolecules, it’s shown that alcohol consumption affects insulin sensitivity in the body. This can result in insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes.

7. Beer contains gluten.

Beer contains malten barley – and this ingredient contains gluten. This may cause an issue for certain people and cause stomach issues.

In general, the one concern that I see is with people that regularly drink beer. Given how it’s become an American staple the average beer consumer underestimate how much they are drinking and the negative effects.

If you do decide to drink you should understand exactly what it’s doing to your body and limit its consumption as much as possible.
