Do You Have High Cholesterol?

Then Read This!

If you have high cholesterol then you’re at risk of heart disease, stroke, and other serious potential issues.

Here’s what you can do to prevent high cholesterol before it’s too late.

A total cholesterol of 240 mg/dL is considered high, and this is total cholesterol.

Total cholesterol is made up of both LDL & HDL cholesterol.

LDL (low density lipoprotein) – often called bad cholesterol.

HDL (high density lipoprotein) – often called good cholesterol.

It goes back to four things.

- The foods you decide to eat.

- Whether you exercise consistently

- Bad habits

- Genetics

You have control over 3 out of the 4 things and the best thing you can do about cholesterol is make lifestyle changes.

From a general perspective start to prioritize exercise, eliminate bad habits like smoking and start to eat whole natural foods.

But let’s go a little deeper.

- Reduce saturated fats which are found in red meats and full fat dairy products.

- Eliminate trans fats (these kinds of fats are often found in highly processed food).

- Eat foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids (salmon, walnuts, flaxseeds & avocados).

- Start eating more soluble fiber (Brussel sprouts, apples, and pears).

- Quit smoking.

- Lose weight and eliminate refined sugars and carbohydrates.

- Limit alcohol intake.

About 4.4 million people die in the United States every year from high blood pressure.

Take care of the problem before it’s too late.
