The Most Addictive Substance on the Planet

Nicotine

Today I’m going to talk about the most addictive substance on the planet: Nicotine.

When consuming nicotine you get this temporary feeling of well-being and relaxation. You get a rush of endorphins or chemicals that relieve stress and pain and even improve your mood.

The reason why it’s so addicting is because it increases levels of dopamine that are often short lived. People must consume more and more nicotine to get that same feeling.

The main problems lie with the side effects.

- Negatively effects your central nervous system

- Negatively effects your cardiovascular system (increased risk of blood clotting and raises blood pressure)

- Negatively effects your respiratory system

- Negatively effects your muscular system

- Negatively effects your gastrointestinal system

Nicotine pouches can also increase the chance of many different cancers:

Oesophagal cancer, pancreatic cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, skin cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Two big problems

1) Raises your blood pressure and heart rate, narrows your arteries and hardens their walls, and makes your blood more likely to clot. It stresses your heart and can set you up for a heart attack or stroke.

2) Collagen is what’s needed to keep your skin looking young and healthy. Nicotine promotes the destruction of collagen. Causes premature skin aging, delayed wound healing, and increased infections. Can also lead to skin diseases like psoriasis, acne and eczema.

To sum up

Nicotine negatively effects your nervous, cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular and gastrointestinal system. Nicotine can significantly raise the probability of different types of cancers. Also, raise your blood pressure, making it more difficult for blood and oxygen to pass through your system which can set you up for a heart attack or stroke. On top of that, it speeds up the aging process and is terrible for your skin.

Based off this information, it’s wise to discontinue nicotine consumption. It may seem healthier than cigarettes and it is! But it’s definitely very harmful.
